Saturday, May 10th • Dramatic theatre play (KREOL) Fouka Zame Ti Pagla at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

Fouka zame ti pagla is a dramatic comedy in Kreol Morisien written and directed by Thierry Françoise. Inspired by various texts by the late Dev Virahsawmy, the play explores themes such as madness and absurdity. It was first performed to great acclaim during the “Anou mont lor lasenn, Omaz Dev Virahsawmy” festival, organised by the Theatre, Film and Performing Arts Lab of the University of Mauritius and the Creole Speaking Union.

May 30th & 31st, Friday & Saturday • Theatre Play (FR) Le Tour du Monde en 80 Jours at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

Join Phileas Fogg and his loyal valet Passepartout for a thrilling race around the world in this fast-paced and comical adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic. With just 80 days to circumnavigate the globe, every minute counts in this energetic theatrical adventure. Featuring six actors portraying a multitude of colourful characters, from the streets of Bombay to the snow-covered plains of America, this vibrant production blends humour, suspense, and surprise.

Friday, May 2nd • Concert Lisa Ducasse at Institut Français de Maurice, Rose Hill

The Institut Français de Maurice is pleased to welcome Lisa Ducasse for a special concert, an evening of poetry and musical intimacy. Alone on stage, Lisa weaves a universe where music and poetry are deeply intertwined.

Born in Mauritius and now based in Paris, she draws inspiration from wonder and childhood nostalgia, offering a repertoire that is both tender and powerful. Lisa gained recognition in 2022 with her track Qui sont, and has since performed at prestigious venues like L’Olympia and La Maroquinerie, as well as festivals such as Les Francofolies de La Réunion. Selected for the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges 2024, she is currently touring with Arthur H and Pomme. Her latest project Palomino blends slam and music in an invitation to escape and freedom.

Wednesday, May 14th • AfroFusion Concert (ENG/KREOL) Chapter of Sound – Manu Desroches unveils his new EP at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

The emblematic Mauritian artist Manu Desroches presents a full-length show celebrating the release of his debut EP. Developed during a 2024 artistic residency in Reunion Island, this performance weaves together the most precious chapters of his life through sound and movement. The show is elevated by the renowned dance company Les Frères Joseph, whose choreography brings Manu’s music to life with precision and emotion. A celebration of passion, artistry, and the transformative power of collaboration.

Friday, May 30th • Jazz Concert Jazz les Serres: Singing and Jiving the Jazz at Quartier des Serres, Domaine de Labourdonnais

Swing into summer with Singing and Jiving the Jazz, an electrifying evening of jazz under the Halle du Quartier des Serres. Organised by The Well Foundation, this first edition brings together five renowned Mauritian jazz groups for 2.5 hours of powerful performances and musical surprises. From vibrant Creole rhythms to soulful ballads and French jazz classics, the night will be a celebration of sound, dance, and cultural fusion.

The lineup includes Philippe Thomas Quintet featuring Marie Luce Faron, Dean & Curly Nookadu Trio, Toto Lebrasse & the Kanasuc Jazz Band featuring Fiora Lebrasse, Le Kreol Jazz Pioneers with dancers Mianjah & Lalaina and The Well Band (jazz renditions of French classics).

Full month • Cinema Screenings for Festival du Film Européen (EU FilmFest)

From May 3rd to 30th, the European Film Festival returns for its 6th edition, bringing ten open-air European film screenings to public spaces across Mauritius every weekend. Organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Mauritius, in partnership with the Institut Français de Maurice, the festival offers a cultural journey through cinema, where each date becomes a stopover and each film a powerful and intimate window into Europe’s diverse storytelling.

May 5th to 9th, Monday to Friday •  Kids Holiday Workshops (FR) at Institut Français de Maurice, Rose Hill

During the May holidays, the Institut Français de Maurice offers three immersive workshops for children. Whether through theatre, music creation, or tech innovation, each camp aims to spark creativity, imagination, and autonomy, all in a fun and stimulating French-speaking environment.

Creative & Musical Workshop – For kids aged 6 to 8
What if a tin can became a drum? A straw, a whistle? Children will create instruments from recycled materials, inspired by artists like Picasso and Vick Shibdoyal. Through painting, assembling, and music-making, they’ll leave with a unique handmade instrument they’ll know how to play.

Designer of the Future Workshop – For kids aged 9 to 16
Perfect for tech-curious children, this hands-on lab explores video games, 3D modelling, robotics, AI, and digital design. Participants will learn by doing, using 3D printers, laser cutters, programming boards, and more.

Theatre Workshop – For kids aged 9 to 14
This camp takes children on a theatrical journey where they write, perform, and direct a play. Through improvisation, voice work, and collective creation, they’ll gain confidence and stage skills, ending the week with a final performance.

May 3rd & 4th, Saturday & Sunday • Kid's theatre play (FR) Les folles aventures de Lili Chardon at Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis

"Les folles aventures de Lili Chardon” is a touching and poetic story that will speak to both children and adults! A show written by Amélie Cornu and directed by Ashish Beesoondial, featuring Rachel de Spéville as Lili and David Pion as Norbert.

"When Norbert goes searching for his lost ball in the school basement and stumbles upon Lili building a flying machine, he decides to join her on an adventure aboard her strange contraption. Along the way, through encounters with four unique characters, the “normal” little boy and the “weird” little girl learn to understand each other and team up to find what they’ve each lost."
